I've been tagged!
I've been tagged by the lovely and talented Catherine Chandler (isn't her work great!) So here are 5 weird things about me...
1. I was voted "Most likely to be a millionaire" in high school because I used to make stuff and sell it to all the rich kids.
2. I love Martha Stewart. Her new kitchen line at Macy's and craft supplies at Michael's are SO nice! I cook from her Everyday Food book all the time (and love the show.)3. On a similar note, since being stuck on the couch breastfeeding, I have become a Food Network addict.
4. Really stupid things bother me, i.e. clapping, ice clinking in a glass, chip bag crinkling, giant blow up holiday yard ornaments, the continued use of the phrase "rule of thumb," people who say use the word seen instead of saw, Rachael Ray, I could go on and on and on...
5. I used to shoot concerts for fun. (Yes, that is Vanilla Ice on the bottom!)
OK-I'll Tag (gosh, everyone has already been tagged except...):
Whitney Jane
Dandelion Blu
the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Sarah Cihat
Looks like I have some competition in the "used ceramics from Goodwill" department, but I will gladly share my plate stash with this cool artist from Brooklyn! Sarah Cihat reglazes and refires old ugly Goodwill castoffs to make new modern designs like those pictured above. Maybe we should join forces...I can break the plates she reglazes to make jewelry! Baby's first day at work
Maternity leave is defiantly over, and I am very happy about that! I have been getting in the studio to make a batch a week for the past 2 weeks. It is hard to find time to solder, but I can do a lot of prep during the week in hopes that I can score 3 hours of non-mommy time to solder. This week I am working on rings and cuff links. Since Nolan has has a bit more awake time where he is not eating, I decided to bring him down to watch! (Don't worry, I kept him safe from flying plate shards!) It didn't last too long, but it was fun while it did. Off to tape my pieces!

Megan Auman Home!
Just in time for the Holiday's, Megan Auman has just opened her online shop for home goods! Soon you'll find all the non-wearable stuff she's been working on - wall panels, wire pillows, and ornaments!Lorraine Linton
I am already envious of folks who can carry a cute little bag instead of a bulky diaper bag. I LOVE these by Lorraine Linton that I found on Modish.Friday, October 12, 2007
Diana Fayt Calendar!
Just in time for the holidays - Diana Fayt's new calendar! A twelve page hand illustrated, limited edition calendar, 9" x 6.5" in size, offset printed on a lovely fine ribbed Japanese paper which has the look and feel of fabric. Based on a Japanese design the calendar's pages are individual leaves, which can be used later as a framed print or as a card.Thursday, October 11, 2007

Checking in...
I'm so sorry that I am a blogging slacker. This little guy is so much work that the Internet is a privilege, and blogging is a down right luxury. I barely have time for his blog, but some people might kick my butt if I neglected that one (and those people know where I live!)
I have been trying to break plates, but his napping is so erratic, I can't count on it for more then maybe an hour if I am lucky. I have to make more work ASAP to get ready for the holidays and hopefully a show or two, but am not so sure how just yet. Hopefully he will soon not have to eat every hour and I can sneak away a little more.
I had my photo shoot for Smart Woman Magazine last week! It was very fun (and a little corny.) They sent a stylist which was really cool, I got to look cute for a day! Hopefully I don't look too much like the sleepless new mother that I am in the photo they choose. The issue will be out in November.
I did get to finish the wedding plate project, here is a photo of the finished pieces. I loved doing this job, and hope to find more like it!

I wish I could chat longer, but alas, motherhood is calling.

Simba!
Check out Simba wearing the one and only Broken Plate Pendant made for a man. It takes a special man to wear a plate around his neck and still look cool! =) Photo taken by Tya of Eyeni.

Crafters for Critters
I just discovered Crafters for Critters through Funky Finds. This a very cool organization where indie crafters/artists donate items to benefit animal rescue organizations. Right now, profits are going to 2nd Chance At Life who partners retired racing greyhounds with prison inmates, which provides foster homes for dogs that would otherwise be abandoned/discarded/killed, while also allowing inmates to give back to the community and instill a feeling of well-being. I think I need to go shopping now, the holidays are coming sooner then you think!

Re-Run!
The Re-Run™ Messenger from Fleurville® is a messanger bag made out of our recycled plastic bottle fabric. Each Re-Run™ Messenger we make keeps ten (10) 600ml plastic water bottles out of landfill. Cool! (warning: this website will make you want a new bag)
See Jane Work
I can't even find ONE product on this website to highlight, becasue I want it all! See Jane Work is a Virgo dream. (actually I am like a virgo burrito or virgo squared right now, that is really dangerous.)
