This wonderful recycled tin owl from Anna Built is only one of the many cool recycled goodies she has on her website. Be sure to check out the recycled can earrings and wine bottle stained glass windows that look anything but recycled! (found via Great Green Goods)

Not sure what to do with Fido or Uncle Bobby after their death? Why not make a diamond out of their remains? LifeGem® is a company that can help you do just that. The LifeGem® is a certified, high-quality diamond created from the carbon of your loved one. From beloved pet to crafting supply, not sure how I feel about that one, but it sure is interesting!
I am proud to introduce my sisters new shop ButchnFemme.
In case I don't pimp Etsy enough, I decided to introduce the Etsy Shop of the Week to my blog. Above is famed Etsy plate artist, TrixieDelicious! This self-proclaimed vintage vandalizer paints ironic words and images on recycled plates. All plates are non-toxic and food safe so you can actually eat off of them, or simply hang one on a wall for a great conversation piece.
Little Flower Designs' teapots are so cute that I wouldn't even break them! Well, not right away at least! (Found via MyMy.)
Above is the amazing colored pencil art of Jennifer Maestre! The top image is a sculpture from her website called Aurora, it is inspired by the form and function of the sea urchin. The next two pieces are available on her Etsy site! They are made of laminated pencils with a protective coat of epoxy. SO Cool!
I was just sent a link of a mention of The Broken Plate from back in December! Old, yes, but still cool, and a great site! Check out Great Green Goods!
To further make up for the "love eggs," please take a look at this Fine Bone China Flying Bird plate from Welmadeproducts.com. Another great plate that I would love to break!
To make up for the "love egg" post, check out Sarah Troper's Wonderbrand rings! The "loaf" of rings are made of sterling, acrylic, resin, and enamel.
You never know where a blog link may take you. I just discovered intimate jewlery by Possess Me. This solid silver egg is designed to "help your woman feel fulfilled and intimately decorated." Hmmm.

If you would like to spend a few solid hours exploring the world of contemporary jewelry, I highly recommend a visit to GalleryDing. This site was created by goldsmith, Maarten van der Vegte and is a great resource of contemporary jeweler's websites, blogs, books, galleries, and many other things including his own blog. Above are two of Maarten's own creations. I was honored that he added my name to his lists of artist websites and blogs *blush*.
Here is an image of my newest necklace made from a plate from Pier One and stained glass. It hangs from a silver toned wire necklace. I will take it as a good sign that I still want to keep almost everything I make.
My first two days as a full time crafter were spent sneazing and coughing! I somehow managed to make and post one necklace yesterday, simply because I was so excited to have salvaged the one small fragment that I wanted from that plate, the backprint. The only work I can do right now is break plates and look at cool plates online. This plate, found via design*sponge, is from a French shop called La Marelle which has everything from plates to bags with designs by Mlle Héloïse.

Wonderfully bizarre plates from MM-BC. According to their website, "MM-BC is a Irreverent Collaboration focusing on Custom Ceramic Stoneware and Gallery, Museum or Public Works Ceramic Installations."
Bidding has begun for the Kim Family Art + Craft Auction on eBay and will end on January 7th.
In case you need some help keeping your New Years resolution, may I suggest Nutri-Plates. These clever plates are based on the idea that through repeated use, one will develop better nutrition by learning the facts about caloric content, metabolic rates, and caloric expenditure. Although educational, I have never wanted to break something more!
This is the work of ceramist Scott Rench of Yosoh.com. His work is made with computer generated images that are printed with a ceramic glaze onto a large canvas of clay. His ceramics feature an interesting mix of classic images and computer related themes. There is a detailed interview of him on WebEsteem.
